Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is a must do for younger Star Wars fans!  Young padawans can practice their lightsaber skills against Darth Vader and Kylo Wren. This is one of the most immersive interactive character experiences that Disney has to offer!

Registration begins at park opening, we recommend heading to sign ups within an hour of park opening for your best chance of securing a spot.  Children ages 4-12 can register at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost, located between the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and 50’s Prime Time Cafe. The participating child must be with you at the time of registration. The cast members will ask each child a few quick questions indicating their willingness to participate.  You will then be given a receipt like the one pictured below that you will need to bring back with you to check in at your designated time.  This is first-come, first-serve so be sure to register early if your children are interested in participating.  If you are not able to secure a spot in the morning keep checking back as often there are cancellations and afternoon spots can open up.

When your time slot has arrived you need to make your way back to the Indiana Jones Outpost area where a cast member will assist your little one in finding a robe that fits and they will then take a seat with the group. At this point I typically advise sending one parent or party member over to the Jedi Training stage to secure a good spot for the show while the second parent remains with the child.  The children will then march as a group over to the stage chanting “Here Come The Jedi”.

Once at the stage the children will then be divided into two lines, one group will take the upper stage and one the lower. Parents will be given a Photopass card at this time.  A Disney Photopass photographer will be on hand to photograph the entire event.  If you have the Memory Maker photo package these photos will be included in your digital downloads.  Each Jedi Training session will result in hundreds of photos on the card so we recommend a stop at the camera shop near the park exit, where they can narrow down the photos to just those of your child.  This makes this substantially easier so you don’t have to sort through the photos at home.

My oldest son is very shy and we were a little apprehensive about him getting on stage but when the time was right he let us know and he loved the experience.  My youngest pictured here fighting Darth Vader has no fear and is in his own world, he ended up holding his lightsaber upside down for half of the experience! You know your child best so be sure that they are up for the challenge and are ok standing in a line away from you for an extended period of time, following directions and interacting with a character on their own during the experience.  The experience takes around 20 minutes on stage.

Please keep in mind that this show takes place outdoors and may be cancelled for inclement weather. May the force be with you!
