Seeing the magic of Disney through the eyes of infants and toddlers is so special and something I will never forget. So many say “I don’t want to bring them until they can remember”. While I very much understand, there are so many reasons to bring them, and tons of tips and tricks we love to share to make your Walt Disney World trip with little ones much easier.

Babies at Disney World

Everyone remembers their first time meeting Mickey and Minnie or eating their first Mickey waffle. But imagine getting to watch your little ones experience those firsts through the innocent eyes of babies. Taking your baby to Disney World doesn’t have to be as intimating as it seems. From baby care centers, indoor attractions even babies can ride, stroller rentals, and more taking a baby to Disney World will be a memorable experience you will never forget.

All the stuff and transportation

From your resort accommodations to a day in the park there is plenty of ways to make travel easier with babies. Bringing less stuff is always easier in my book. For sleeping accommodations at your Disney World Resort, you can request a portable crib or pack-n-play (based on availability). You can also rent a stroller to be delivered to your resort for arrival by various stroller rental companies like Kingdom Stoller Rentals. Disney does offer stroller rentals in the parks but those strollers are best for older children that would not need to nap in the stroller or just looking for a quick seat for a ride from A to B. For those flying and choosing not to travel with a car seat, there is plenty of transportation options available to get from your airport to your Disney World Resort. MEARS and Sunshine Flyer are large charter buses that do not require car seats. You can also request private transportation from MEARS and other companies that can supply you with a car seat for your little one. When on Disney property all Disney transportation like the busses, Skyliner, etc do not require car seats. If you are looking for a quicker or more private ride from the resort to the park you can book a Minnie Van powered by Lyft. By using the Lyft app while on Disney Property you will see the option for Minnie Vans. These vans are Disney Vehicles, typically a large SUV that comes equipt with 2 “all in one” car seats per vehicle. Minnie Vans also have a wheelchair-accessible option to be requested.

All strollers need to be folded when traveling via Disney Bus systems. Single strollers and double strollers that seat kids front to back do not need to be folded for the Skyliner or Monorail. Side to Side double strollers do need to be folded for all transportation. All Disney Transportation is wheelchair accessible.

Baby Care Centers

Baby Care Center

Disney loves babies and parents will love Disney too! The accommodations for infants and children that Disney World provides to parents can help make your park experience that much easier! Baby Care Centers are an essential part of that. In each Walt Disney World Park, you will find a Baby Care Center. This in an indoor space that makes feeding time to diaper changes easy. Each Center provides private nursing rooms with rocking chairs, changing rooms, baby/toddler feeding areas with highchairs, kitchen space with microwave, and a larger open space make just for kids with a TV for those older siblings. Forgot something? No problem! On-site shop offering formula, baby food, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, over-the-counter medications, and clothing for purchase. Any child that would be separated from their caregiver would also be bought to the Baby Care Center in that particular park. You can find the locations of each Center in your My Disney Experience App, ask a Cast Member, or find the location on your paper map found at the entrance of the park.

Tips and Tricks!

I love traveling with my littlest to Disney. It is always a special time. There are a few things I have learned and a few things I would never leave home without.

Rides:

Did you know anything that does not have a height requirement an infant at Disney World can ride? It’s A Small World in Magic Kingdom, and Na’vi River Journey in Disney’s Animal Kingdom are my little one’s favorites.

Strollers/Baby Carriers:

Babywearing at Disney leaves mom with 2 hands for all the EPCOT treats!

Having a stroller that lays flat for naps, has lots of storage, and is easy to fold is essential for a successful park day. Reminder: Disney does have stroller size restrictions that can be found on the website here. Stoller Waggons in any shape or form are not allowed and are reserved for those requiring them for special needs accommodations. Those accommodations and if/when wagons are allowed are at the discretion of the Cast Member at the gate at the time of entry.

Having a stroller fan is helpful for your little one to have a break from the heat. My favorite “hack” is having my baby in our baby carrier. I then attached the stroller fan to the handle of our stroller, pointed the fan at the baby and myself, and used the stroller for one of my bigger kids or to hold all our stuff! Baby carriers are helpful if your little one is used to them, and enjoys taking a good nap in one. You can also wear baby in your carrier on most non-height requirement rides.
