I had the pleasure of setting sail when staying at Sandals Grande Antigua in late March. After visiting the on-site excursion desk, this caught my eye! We left right from the resort on a catamaran around 4pm ET and were back in time for dinner.
Why I love sunset cruises?
Enjoy a relaxing 1.5-2.5 hour cruise with island music while sightseeing
This was a terrific way to relax while seeing different parts of the island from the catamaran I otherwise would not have been able to see on my trip. While on the cruise, the captain shared the history of the island and pointed out important architectural sites.
Romantic way to start the evening
This is a terrific option for those looking for some extra romance. Grab a seat on the catamaran or lay on the front nets and take in the sights and sounds together.
Indulge in the food and drink served
The drinks were free-flowing and the employees kept appearing with appetizers to ensure we never had empty cups or plates. The food was delicious!
Dance to island music on the way back to the resort
A tradition on sunset cruises is to ‘let your hair down’ on the way back and dance to Caribbean jams while speeding back to the resort. If dancing isn’t your style, sit back and relax and enjoy watching the others dance while continuing to eat and drink!
Sunset cruises are a must-do when traveling! The cruise will get you away from the resort, out on the ocean, immersed in nature. It also doesn’t hurt to have a drink in hand while sailing along the coast!
